  8. the sorting of fixed and variable-length records and allows for record
  9. ``massaging'' through simple English-language statements. Other features
  10. include standard access to 9-track tape drives, upper to upper-lower case
  11. conversion, execution of external subprograms, and most COBOL string processing
  12. commands. The utility basically provides all of the advantages of COBOL without
  13. the wordiness. Compile times for average size programs are typically less than
  14. a second with execution following immediately thereafter.
